Study society and human behavior, both past and present, with a Concordia University Ann Arbor Social Studies major.
As a CUAA Social Studies major, you’ll observe a wide range of social behavior—both past and present. From civic ideals to power and governance, you’ll learn important concepts that explain individual and human characteristics. Our Social Studies program will teach you to explain key concepts of economics, geography, and political science. Our students are also able to apply social and behavioral concepts such as social groups and institutions, culture and cultural diversity, and individual development and identity to current and past social behavior and public issues. Our aim is to help you improve your social and behavioral skills to become an effective servant leader.
The CUAA Social Studies major is based on curriculum that is focused on participation in society as productive Christian citizens. You’ll start by studying the foundations of learning to observe and analyze a wide range of social behavior. Understanding humans today means understanding where we came from, so you’ll also explore history, economics, geography, and political science. In order to put your knowledge into practice, your studies will also require participating in public life through discussion of public issues and civic involvement.
