ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 9, 2009 – Concordia University Athletics is happy to announce that the Annual Summer Fun Run series will return for a second season this year. The season begins on Thursday, July 9 and will be held for three consecutive weeks - all on Thursday. After a week off, the series will return on Thursday for two dates (August 6 and August 13) before ending on Thursday, August 20. Each run will begin at 7:00 p.m. with registration and warm-up beginning at 6:15 p.m. The cost for the run will be a $5 cash entry fee ($3 for any runner under the age of 14). Participants will start in the field west of the university’s gymnasium.
Official Dates: July 9, 16, and 23. August 13, and 20.
NOTE: The August 6 race has been cancelled and the August 21 race has been moved to August 20.
The 5K course on Concordia University’s campus is described as challenging, hilly, with turns, one main loops with half mile back track at finish; grass for 90 percent of the course with some dirt road and crosses 2 sidewalks.
